Love Struck – Jada and Nicholas's Wedding Story

“I didn’t choose you. I just took one look at you – and then there was just no turning back.”

A Hamilton wedding videographer captures a bride and groom cutting their wedding cake.

Love at first sight is not for everyone but when it comes to Jada and Nicholas Zita, cupid’s arrow struck almost instantly. Having shared a neighboring residence at Brock University some 11 years ago, Jada and Nicholas would meet on several infrequent occasions. However, after the first couple of dates, Nicholas asked Jada to be his girlfriend and as they say – love bloomed! Fast forward nine years later; Nicholas finally popped the question by surprising her with a ring that he designed himself. And of course, she said YES!

The Wedding Plans

The wedding planning phase is a stressful time for every newly engaged couple. Luckily, the couple had a similar vision for their big day and wanted it to be an intimate affair that they could cherish for a lifetime. Instead of hiring an event management team, the couple teamed up to plan their own wedding in Hamilton. Well after a year of being married, they both agree that the hassle was worth the results they witnessed in their Hamilton wedding video.

However, when it came to guest’s experiences like food, drinks, and entertainment – Nick was in charge. He had a certain vision for all the minuscule details from the decor color scheme to the music for the after-party.

The young couple has family values embedded within them and that was an important element they wanted to portray and resonate with their wedding guests on their wedding day. Fun fact: they chose tiny details from their parent’s and grandparents’ weddings and integrated them into their own. For example, the bride bouquet carried by Jada on the wedding day included a broach that was gifted to her paternal great-grandmother at her wedding while the pearls around her neck were part of the jewelry worn by her mother at her wedding. She also picked up some orange lilies from the site of her parent’s wedding and included them in her bouquet as well. Since only one of their grandparents was able to attend their big day, the couple kept framed photographs of their ancestors on display.

The Wedding Site

For the wedding ceremony venue, the couple chose the same church in Hamilton where Jada’s maternal grandparents got married some 75 years ago. Jada and Nicholas recreated similar memories of their ancestor’s wedding by enlisting an organist who was given the privileged to play the church’s 150-year-old organ during the bride’s entrance. The music accompanied by the voice of a classically trained singer made the whole ceremony an emotional affair that was a delight for any wedding videographer in Hamilton, Ontario, and of course their wedding guests.

Apollo – The Family Pet

The young couple also made sure not to exclude their pet dog “Apollo” from the wedding festivities. A part of their life for many years, Apollo was also included during the ‘proposal’ and no way could Jada and Nick forget about him on the biggest day of their lives. In fact, Jada admits that she modified the cake topper to include a figure of Apollo, as he is a significant part of their family. She even dedicated the drinks at the bar to Apollo and titled it “Drinks are on Apollo.” How cool is that!

The Big Day

On this rainy summer day in Hamilton, Ontario, Jada and Nicholas Zita exchanged their vows. Just like any other wedding, the day was full of anxiety and emotional moments. And the never-ending rain of June increased the couple’s apprehension of the wedding day’s plan. However, when the proceedings started, everything started falling in place. Luckily, even the sun decided to make an appearance to witness their love and allowed us to capture the beautiful memories.

After months of planning their big day, Jada and Nicholas finally saw each piece falling together. The couple agrees that the start of the day was stressful but once things got underway, the couple put all their fears aside and focused on celebrating the best day of their life – with their loved ones.
