Fun and Classy Wedding at Mississauga Convention Centre

It was a beautiful day, September 10th. Patricia and Andrew had been planning their wedding for the past few years, with all of the little details planned to perfection. After months of anticipation, it finally arrived - their big day! The ceremony took place at St. Clements Church in Cambridge followed by an intimate reception at the Mississauga Convention Centre. As a Cambridge wedding videographer, it was our duty to make sure we got to know everyone within the bridal party before the day went any further. We wanted to make sure we got to learn a few of their personalities first as this would help us to construct a well-documented intimate video. We had a long day of filming and hard work ahead, so it was important to have the bridal party well-informed about what we do as well. The bride and groom both had a dream wedding in mind. Thanks to Narelle Janine Events wedding planning, their dream wedding was fulfilled in all its glory. Here is our take on their special day.

We Sealed The Deal!

We were very fortunate to have come across Patricia when she initially messaged us by email. She originally found us on Google. It was truly a refreshing email, as business was quite slow during these trying pandemic days, and newly engaged couples were still most likely afraid to contact wedding vendors and plan their wedding day with uncertainties. But Patricia was very different from the others who would often trickle in once in a while with very little desire to inquire. Patricia was in love with our work! She was very enthusiastic and positive about hiring us as their wedding videographer in Cambridge. Furthermore, it didn't take much convincing to get Andrew aboard. This couple had a wedding day vision and the fact we provide and share similar ideas, Andrew knew right away we were the perfect Toronto wedding videographer to capture their Cambridge wedding. After relaying email messages back and forth, and after one Zoom video call, we sealed the deal!

The Bride and Groom Preparation

Patricia and Andrew's Cambridge wedding was perfect! They were very laid-back, down-to-earth people which made it all the more enjoyable for us. The moment we stepped foot into Patrica's home, we could feel the positive and loving energy in the air. All the bridesmaids could be seen in the background getting all dolled up. While the bride was getting her hair done, we had the opportunity to film some of the details leading up to the bride's preparation.

In the meantime, my second wedding videographer was at the groom's house filming Andrew and his groomsmen as they were getting ready in a beautiful room with huge windows overlooking the picturesque of homes across the street. Oh! And how can I forget the groom's car garage? My goodness, he had one heck of an incredible car collection! It was obvious the groom had a love for cars, but I can ensure you, it was nothing short of love for his beautiful and soon-to-be wife, Patricia. We did, in fact, get some cool shots of his hot wheels, as we felt it described much of his character and interests. After all, a good story comes with getting to know your character first. Right?

During our video preparation sequence at each house, we got to capture plenty of laughter and the fun conversation was non-stop! As a wedding videographer, it's always a pleasure to capture natural moments such as these; when people are just themselves and having a great time. We are not about that cheesy fake stuff most wedding videos now adays are known for.

The Wedding Ceremony in Cambridge, Ontario

When we arrived at St. Clements Church in Cambridge, we were overwhelmed with the beauty of the venue. It was truly a sight to behold with its rich monuments and stained-glass windows. My goodness, it was like staring directly through St Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican!

We arrived a bit early, and this gave us ample time to get acquainted with the priest and set up our cameras and tripods. The timing also gave us the opportunity to converse and learn a little bit more about the photographer at hand. It was our first time working the sidelines with Kurtz Orpia Photography. Kurtz is such a cool guy and an amazing wedding photographer in Cambridge. He reassured us that he'd work with us to ensure that the bride and groom got the most of their day's imagery captured on point. Knowing this gave us the boost and confidence we needed to focus on the day's events without a hitch. I mean the last thing we hate to do is step on other vendors' toes. I can clearly tell you, we are very fortunate to continue to work and get along with all wedding photographers in Toronto and Ontario, and other vendors we come across from time to time.

The wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful and a joy to be a part of. And Patricia looked like an angel coming down the aisle. The tears in Andrew's eyes said it all. In fact, there wasn't one dry tear in the Church. As they exchanged their marriage vows, I couldn't help but feel so happy for them both. It truly is amazing how two people can come together and be so ready to take on a new journey in life. When you watch their wedding video, notice the twinkle in their eyes as they vow to each other. It is truly an honor for us as Toronto wedding videographers, to travel to Cambridge and document such a pleasant memory for them both. The priest spoke so fondly and elegantly and had everyone in laughter with some of his stories. The choir and the organist were such a nice addition to the ceremony and all of it was nicely captured on their wedding video. Then came the time for the first kiss. It was the most anticipated moment of the day, and as you can see in the video, they both went for it with full force! Not even the jaws of life could separate these two love birds. It was like watching through fireworks!

Photo Creatives at The Cambridge Mill

After the ceremony, we had a chance to do some quick portraits of the newlyweds before everyone made their way to the reception venue. We headed over to the nearby Cambridge Mill gardens where a streaming ravine overlooking a spectacular backdrop of old heritage buildings could be seen from afar. Who knew the town of Cambridge had so many enriched antique structures to offer?

The Wedding Reception in Mississauga, Ontario

After a few photo-ops and creatives with the excited bridal party, we made our way to the reception hall where everyone was enjoying cocktails and some friendly mingling. After all, the pandemic and lockdown measures were just lifted, and I can understand how excited all their family and friends were to finally meet and greet again. Patricia and Andrew made their way into their ballroom for their first room reveal, and let me tell you, the look on their faces said it all! They were so humbly grateful and surprised! The decor and the flower arrangements, courtesy of Rachel Clingen, was nothing short of amazing!

The evening began perfectly with Patricia and Andrew's first dance. It was a beautiful moment! These two could pass as winners from dancing with the stars. That is the honest truth! Our evening Emcee and disc jockey did an amazing job at keeping the dance floor packed and entertained. He was actually quite funny! Of course, guests were warned to dance separately in groups and practice social distancing as a precaution. Guests were able to enjoy dinner between dances. The light show was spectacular! As professional wedding videographers in Toronto, we take great liberty into composing great shots with abstract lighting. We try our best to avoid using fake light leak overlays in post-production. We love the real deal!

Throughout the evening we got to learn quite a bit about the bride and groom. Some quirky speeches mixed with some serious ones. The night ended with the cutting of the cake and more dancing! It truly was a wonderful day that we will never forget.

A Wedding Day To Remember

Many tears of joy were shed during this emotional day, and everyone was beaming with happiness as they congratulated the new Mr. and Mrs. Fernandes. Patricia and Andrew's Cambridge wedding day experience was an event to remember for everyone in attendance, including us! They made it so easy for us as Toronto wedding videographers to catch every moment on film with their laid-back personalities. It is always nice when the couple can make you feel like part of the family right away. We felt an instant connection and gratification with their families and of course the bridal party. The confidence they instilled in us shines clearly throughout their wedding film. We hope to continue to encounter more couples like this. Having similar visions and sharing similar ideas is a proposition in itself. We were ecstatic to be a part of this day and excited about the final product!
